I don’t know if I’m ever going to make it out to Irving, Texas where the headquarters of the Boy Scouts of America is located, but I can take a virtual tour there courtesy of the National Scouting Museum. If you’ve ever fallen in love with those iconic Norman Rockwell paintings (some which I believe are currently on tour in New Jersey) you can see them in person at the museum. Memorabilia and many hands-on, interactive displays are available, too.
It looks like the web site hasn’t been overhauled since 2006, but I couldn’t find anything missing. The have a list of upcoming activities that extends through May 2009. If you’d like to see what there is at the National Scouting Museum, and even where you can camp nearby if you’re planning to visit with your troop, click on over and check them out.
